Flying with CBD is confusing.
If you’ve ever considered flying with CBD, you’ve probably scoured the internet wondering if you should bring your CBD with you or just find some at your destination.
And you’re not alone.
Stories like these circulate regularly:
A 71 year old woman was recently arrested at Dallas-Fort Worth airport for going through airport security with CBD.
However, recently the TSA updated its regulations on flying with CBD.
Products/medications that contain hemp-derived CBD or are approved by the FDA are legal as long as it is produced within the regulations defined by the law under the Agriculture Improvement Act 2018.

So what does this mean to you?
Don’t assume you can fly with CBD just yet. People don’t change as quickly as policy. Double check that your CBD is legal according to the Farm Bill, as well as the locations you are flying from and to.
The TSA provides this simple disclaimer:
The final decision rests with the TSA officer on whether an item is allowed through the checkpoint.
