If your pet is experiencing pain, seizures, inflammation, or even anxiety, CBD may be a safe and effective way to ease their discomfort.

A word of caution before we go any further

Animals do not react well to THC.

There is a very important difference between CBD and THC, and they both come from cannabis.

THC is the psychoactive part of cannabis that you find in marijuana and it’s what causes people to get high.   DO NOT give your pet anything with THC.

Dogs specifically have more cannabinoid receptors than other animals and humans, so THC can negatively affect your pooch.

CBD is also extracted from cannabis and does not contain THC.  CBD is legal in all 50 states.  It is nonpsychoactive and it will not get you high and is safe for your pet.

There are many pet products from powders to tinctures to shampoo that are made for pets.    Be sure you’re getting a high-quality product that actually contains CBD.

All the products in Holden Farms CBD shop are vetted by our strict regulation process. You can be assured that anything purchased from Holden Farms CBD contains exactly what it says on the bottle!

Now that you have your Pet CBD product how much should you give your pet?

There are some general guidelines we suggest when easing your pets troubles.

First start with smaller doses than the recommendations below. Pets like people respond differently to supplements and medicine.

The general guideline is to use 0.5-5 mg for every 10 lbs body weight.

So if, for example, your pet weighs 20 lbs, use 1-10 mg of CBD every 8-12 hours.

That is a pretty wide range for dosing so try the minimum dose for 1-2 doses and if you still see no relief, gradually increase the dosage until you find what works for your pet.

A  little CBD goes a long way, especially in pets. So be patient and know you’ll find the right dose for your pet and their particular needs.  A small amount of CBD can work wonders.

Most pet owners prefer to add a little CBD oil to their furry friend’s favorite treat. However, external application may also be just as effective in certain situations. Find something that works well for you and your pet.

Again, there are no hard and fast rules, so it’s up to you to experiment and see what works best for you, your pet, and your individual situation.
